Useful information, Experiences and Local Stories
Greenland seems mysterious for many people, and therefore the travel information you get about Greenland is of vital importance.
Apart from our well-designed tours, we also offer travel information, equipment lists and local tips to prepare you as much as possible before you arrive in the Arctic. Local stories and blogs can also draw you closer to Greenland.
You don’t need to search, browse and compare travel products and information from millions of websites opened in your browser anymore. The Arctic Adventure official website is good enough.
Marvel at the fantastic photos and videos about Greenland, Iceland and the Faroe Islands.
Gigantic icebergs, long and narrow ice fjords, vast tundra land, dancing northern lights, and different Arctic creatures. You can’t help but be amazed by the beauty of nature, lively towns, and people who are living there.
However, once you step on the land and walk through the pictures you see on our website, you will realise that no matter how advanced a camera is, it can only capture maybe 10% of the real beauty when you see it with your own eyes.
We only work with 3- and 4-star hotels, which we have personally visited and feel would be suitable for our travellers. E.g. the staff is service-minded, and the rooms are clean and have private facilities wherever possible (we will always tell you at the time of booking if a hotel only offers shared facilities!).
With our head quarter in Copenhagen and local offices in Ilulissat and Narsaq, we are driven to provide adventurous journeys to the Arctic with enthusiasm and strong motivation. Both individual travellers and travel agencies will receive professional and satisfactory services and help throughout their travels. You can learn more about our team in the section below.
Arctic Adventure is Member No. 1535 of the Danish Travel Guarantee Fund: Rejsegarantifonden.
In the 1970s Peter Morell, President of Arctic Adventure, became a trailblazer for commercial tourism to Greenland. Identifying a clear lack of options for travellers who wished to explore this region, he decided to set up Arctic Adventure in the early 1980s.
In 2016 Jens Christian Hildestad was appointed CEO of Arctic Adventure. This development kick-started the next phase of our successful journey to increase knowledge of our destinations as well as consolidate our position as a first-class tour operator designing second-to-none itineraries.
Over the years, we have also become highly experienced organisers of private jet tours, MICE groups, and cruise handling in Scandinavia and the North Atlantic.
In 2019, we launched our B2C website offering day excursions and multi-day tours in Greenland, Iceland and the Faroe Islands. Explorers who are interested in unique and unforgettable adventures to those destinations no longer need to book their trips through travel agencies, instead, they can book their North Atlantic adventures and search for useful tips and information with just one click. Covering both B2B and B2C, Arctic Adventure ApS has entered a new era and made the Arctic region even more accessible for tourists from all over the world.
Today, Arctic Adventure is one of the most experienced tour operators in the North Atlantic with a global network of selling agents and long-running partnerships in all three destinations. Our head office is in Copenhagen. You can also find Arctic Adventure branches in Ilulissat and Narsaq.
Aiming for a sustainable and environmental-friendly development has been part of the main business since the start point of our company.
Your trusted team
A professional, united and enthusiastic team is here to ensure your adventures in the Arctic. We are driven to provide our customers with timely responses, qualified service and unforgettable and fascinating trips.
Experienced travel consultants, itinerary designers, cruise director and customer service staff are based at the head office in Copenhagen offering well-designed travel products and high-end customised itineraries.
Our multi-lingual Arctic Adventure guides work in our offices in Ilulissat and Narsaq and they are looking forward to welcoming our guests in Greenland during all seasons. Like ourselves, they have a passion for the Arctic and possess rich knowledge about Greenlandic history, nature and culture. Trained entirely by ourselves, they are storytellers, destination enthusiasts and knowledgeable travel companions.
For most of the multi-day tour packages, guests will be well looked after from the moment they arrive at their Greenland airport. Usually, there will be a welcome meeting and guided city walk on the day of arrival. At the welcome meeting, your guests can buy excursions and ask any questions they may have.
At each destination, we have a Destination Coordinator who oversees the logistics at the destination and of course, in direct contact with the office in Copenhagen.
Our guide team speaks several languages, and at each destination, we do our very best to offer guide service in English, German and Spanish. On request, we can provide languages such as French, Italian, Chinese, etc.
