This excursion will take you through the vast and ice-filled Ikerssuaq Fjord. We will sail past gigantic icebergs and head to the impressive glacier system – Twin Glaciers. You will have the chance to spot wildlife along the journey and step on a small rock close to the glacier front! Keep browsing for more detailed information.
The departure location of this excursion is at Harbour. Head to Narsaq Marina (at the harbour) yourself and get on the right boat, your today’s excursion begins!
We will sail through the gigantic icebergs and magnificent Ikerssuaq Fjord, heading to the main stop of this excursion – Twin glacier. Chunks of ice are still calved from this impressive glacier today. The difference is that ice used to fall into the fjord in the past while the ice breaks off on land at present!
As we approach the glacier front, you can go ashore on a small rock emerging from the glacier front. At this spot, you will have the chance to touch the glacier yourself! You can also see the evidence and marks of the glacier receding over the rocks decades ago. Standing on this spot, you will find yourself dramatically tiny compared to the gigantic icebergs and vast glacier.
The way back is full of adventures as well. We will sail by bird cliffs and a scenic waterfall. We may also spot some wildlife at the same time.
Please note this excursion is not guided. To better facilitate the pick-up service, please the local driver can reach you through the phone number you left during the booking and email us your accommodation.
