South Greenland is famous for the scenic fjords, rich historical heritage, and great hiking routes. This 5-day adventure takes you to Narsarsuaq and Qaqortoq in South Greenland to experience the local beauty.
A range of exciting and well-planned optional activities is here for you to add on to the basic itinerary. Flight tickets and hotels are included to enable a smooth and worry-free journey. Arctic Adventure guides are also there to guide you.

Day 1 Narsarsuaq: Arrival Day & City Tour
Welcome to South Greenland! Today you will fly with Air Iceland flight from Reykjavik to Narsarsuaq. Upon your arrival, Arctic Adventure guide will greet you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel later.
After check-in, there will be an information meeting hosted by our guide. You can then learn more about the itinerary and details you should pay attention to when you explore Greenland.
Today, a City Tour of Narsarsuaq is included in the itinerary. Together with Arctic Adventure guide, we will walk around in this small yet amazing settlement. You can immerse yourself in the UNESCO historical sites, ruins from centuries ago, sheep farms, green fields and icebergs floating in the fjord. You can get to know the nature and history essence of this settlement.
Tonight, you will stay at Hotel Narsarsuaq. Sleep tight!

Day 2 Qaqortoq: City Walk
Today, we will get on the boat and sail to Qaqortoq through amazing Erik’s Fjord. As the boat sailing towards the wide ocean, you can feel the refreshing air, hear the peaceful waves and see the gigantic icebergs.
When we arrive at the pier, Arctic Adventure guide will take care of the transportation and help you check-in at Hotel Qaqortoq. After a short rest, we can step outside to explore the beauty of Qaqortoq through the City Tour.
Qaqortoq is seen as the hidden garden and the most beautiful town of South Greenland. Lying between the fjord of Qaqortoq and the lake of Tasersuaq, Qaqortoq enjoys various stone carvings and sculptures. This City Tour lasts around 2 hours, and we will walk around the main attractions.
Tonight, a 2-course dinner is served at Hotel Qaqortoq to mark an ending of today’s adventure.

Day 3: Qaqortoq: Hvalsey Church Ruin & Hike Around Storesøen
Sailing and hiking are two must-do activities in South Greenland. Today, you can explore South Greenland on your schedule. Instead, you can join our well-organized excursions to experience the fjord and the mountains here fully.
Hvalsey Church Ruin is one of the historical sites in South Greenland. During this excursion, we will sail out to a nearby island Hvalsey and visit the Norse ruins there. Arctic Adventure guide will introduce the history, stories and interesting facts behind the ruins.
Hike Around Storesøen is a guided hiking excursion around the big lake Storesøen. This 12-km hiking path leads us through the beautiful Greenlandic nature and offers us a peaceful atmosphere outside the town. Lunch, tea and coffee are included in this excursion.

Optional Activities Hike Around Storesøen – 4.5 to 5.5 hours, difficulty 4 Hvalsey Church Ruin – 3 hours, Difficulty 2Day 4: Narsarsuaq: Explore the Town on Your Own
Today we will say goodbye to Qaqortoq and head to Narsarsuaq for more adventures! There are two ways to go to Narsarsuaq – by helicopter or by boat – it depends on the availability. If the helicopter is available, you will fly in a low altitude over the magnificent Arctic landscape to Narsarsuaq. It’s going to be a memorable way to start a new day of adventure!
But, in the days that the helicopters are not available, we will take the boat and sail through the beautiful fjords. The local guide will transfer you to Hotel Narsarsuaq after your arrival.
After checking-in at Hotel Narsarsuaq, you can explore the corners of this cosy settlement yourself. Narsarsuaq enjoys great mountains and amazing views. Enjoy your leisure time!

- 3. We suggest you book the optional activities when booking this tour since a limited number of seats are provided.
- 4. If the tour is cancelled due to weather conditions, failure to reach the minimum number of participants or other unpredictable situations, Arctic Adventure ApS reserves the right to cancel the tour. For tours cancelled by Arctic Adventure ApS under this situation, our customers will get a 100% refund.
- 5. If participants fail to participate the excursions based on their personal reasons (for example: no show), Arctic Adventure ApS will not provide any refund.
- 6. Please note the decision to cancel is made through evaluation of actual weather situation, number of participants, and other unpredictable factors, not the customer.

FAQ
For this multi-day tour, we receive booking till the 10 weeks prior to the departure time of the excursion. However, please note that limited seats are provided. Late booking may be unavailable.
Weather in Greenland can be quite unpredictable, thus, cancellations and reschedule may occur.
If the excursion is cancelled due to weather conditions, failure to reach the minimum number of participants or other unpredictable situations, Arctic Adventure ApS reserves the right to cancel the excursion. For excursions cancelled by Arctic Adventure ApS under this situation, our customers will get a 100% refund.

For excursions in Kangerlussuaq, transfers from and to Hotel Kangerlussuaq are included.
For excursions in Ilulissat and Nuuk, please refer to the “Included” and “Not Included” section for detailed information.
For excursions in Sisimiut, transfers starting from Hotel Sisimiut are included.
For excursions and tours in Iceland (apart from Whale Watching), pick-up and transfer from the nearest pick-up spot are included. Please check with the reception for detailed pick-up spot.

- Other clothing should be picked according to weather that day, you will not get much colder on the glacier as on the ground.
- Sturdy Hiking Boots – waterproof with good ankle support.
- Shirts, both short and long sleeves
- Mosquito Masks and Mosquito repellent. Mosquito season in Greenland runs from mid-June to mid-August
- Sunscream with high SPF
- Lip balm, cream and moisturizer
- Woollen/or thermal windproof hat, which covers your neck (alternatively, thermal face mask);
- Woollen/or thermal gloves (ideal as a base layer under waterproof gloves or mittens);
