Visit Greenlandic sledge dogs in the summertime!
There is no other place you can find in the world that has a more harmonious relationship between sledge dogs and humans. Ilulissat has some sledge dog areas and those sledge dogs are still used for both work and play during winter. In Summer, their owners still take good care of them for the new winter season.
In this excursion, we will go to visit the dogs of a local musher with Arctic Adventure guides. You can hear the howling of 20 hungry dogs and get to know more about the habitat, history and stories of those smart fluffy friends. The owner will demonstrate the equipment used during dogsledding.
Please keep in mind that even though sledge dogs look not much different from the domestic pets, they are working animals with a wild instinct. Do not approach, feed or pet them unless you are allowed.
Sturdy shoes advised!
This excursion takes around 1.5 hours
